Joint Statement Between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on Further Deepening China-Spain Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was officially announced this morning, Beijing Time. Article 25 of the joint statement states: "The two sides believe that cooperation in the field of transportation is very important. Commodity transportation and logistics are an important part of the overall development of international trade. The two countries are willing to further play the role of the CHINA RAILWAY Express(Yiwu-Madrid) to increase freight volume. The two sides believe that passenger transport service is a key factor in promoting the development of tourism and will further deepen cooperation in the fields of flights, air traffic control, airport operation and ports.

The CHINA RAILWAY Express(Yiwu-Madrid), commonly known as the "YXE" CHINA RAILWAY Express, has been written into the joint statement of China and other countries for the first time. It also means that the role and status of the  "YXE" CHINA RAILWAY Express in the diplomatic, economic and trade fields of China and the Western World have been further enhanced.

In the first 10 months of this year, under the supervision of Yiwu Customs, the import and export value of YXE CHINA RAILWAY Express totaled 6.61 billion RMB, increased by 93.6% over the same period of last year, which including export value  5.37 billion RMB, increased by 97.9% over the same period of last year, and import value 1.24 billion RMB, increased by 76.8% over the same period of last year.

As an important stop for YXE CHINA RAILWAY Express, the commodity export from Yiwu to Spain has increased significantly. From January to October of this year, Yiwu exported 2.73 billion RMB to Spain, increased by 17.75% over the same period last year, and imported 0.06 billion RMB, increased by 8.82% over the same period last year. According to the data from the Chinese Embassy in Spain, 13 Spanish autonomous region governments, each seaports and inland ports have established cooperative relations with YXE. At present, China is Spain's largest trading partner besides the European Union, and bilateral trade volume has increased from $12 million at the time of diplomatic relations establishment to a record high of $30.94 billion last year.
